Our Madeline

In this world, how do you see yourself?

I'm a bit of a creative! I'm always scribbling on things. 90% of my days are spent in the garden or ocean so I guess that also makes me a bit of a hippy. My favorite feeling in the world is bare feet on grass and I have a crazy obsession with the stars.

Tell us about your childhood?

I grew up along the coast of Queensland; I don't think I've ever lived more than 100m from the ocean. I remember regularly spending holidays in Byron and visiting the fairies that lived in my grandparent’s creek. I spent the majority of my childhood outdoors and my feet were always dirty. Nothing's changed.

What are the top three things you want to get out of your upcoming travels?

I'm hoping to let go of material possessions a bit more this trip and appreciate life for what it is. I've gotten too attached to the idea that what you own makes up who you are. I want to appreciate the simple things in life. And I gotta have more fun!! We came here to have fun and life's too short for anything else.

What are your top five essentials for travelling?

  1. A good playlist 2. Travel Journal 3. Camera 4. Vegemite 5. Sarong (doubles asa bed sheet and perfect for temple visits)

I don't know where I'd be without some groovy tunes to get me through those 8-hour flights! Travel journals and cameras are also an essential because sometimes magic happens and this way you get to re-live it again later. When I was travelling a major thing I learnt was that you can't rely on people, places or things for your own happiness. Sounds corny but no matter where you are, you create your own reality. You also gotta have an open mind and be open to new experiences, don't try to plan everything and let life happen. Earth is pretty bloody cool and I'm stoked to be here.

We will be following Madeline's journey as she continues to explore and discover.
We are absolutely adore Madeline and we're stoked to have her as part of our team.
